Helping you make your Lasting Powers of Attorney
We have many years’ experience of making Lasting Powers of Attorney. We understand that it is often difficult to consider what might happen if you should lose your mental capacity and how those close to you would cope with this. We also understand that families and relationships are complicated and making decisions as to who should be appointed as your Attorney and how they would manage your affairs is not always straightforward.
We will be able to help you to consider:
- who you should appoint as your Attorneys – these are the people that will look after your assets, pay your liabilities, make decisions as to your care and any medical treatment and manage your day to day affairs;
- any specific instructions concerning your assets and how they are to be used;
- any specific instructions concerning the type of medical care you would wish to receive;
- any guidance as to the type of life sustaining treatment you would want to have and under what particular circumstances.
We have the knowledge and expertise to guide you through the process and complete a valid and registered LPA documents that will set out your wishes. We will explain the documents to you and highlight the matters that are most relevant for you, as well as discussing any potential problems or obstacles. We will prepare LPAs in draft for you to approve before we help you to sign and complete them and then make application to the Office of the Public Guardian to register them.
